Introduction
The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 1998 for the undergraduate course with an intake of 60. The department has well-equipped laboratories and a CAD cam lab with 3D modelling and computational software. The department has a well-equipped huge work-shop. The department has well well-established library having no reference books for students and faculty.
Department student chapter MESA (Mechanical Engg Student Association) organized different technical event activities. The Department of Mechanical Engineering have MOUs with leading and reputed industries like CEMS, Republic Motors, Cad Centre, Volmet, MECH-INS etc. Every year students participate in different indoor and outdoor sports.
The department has registered membership with different professional bodies like ISME, and ISHRAE- Thane chapter. The experienced faculty and staff of the department made remarkable strides by involving themselves in various activities like FDP, STTP, and Project Competition. Faculties have grabbed the research grants from the University of Mumbai.
For the all-round development of the students, various expert lectures/ workshops, ADD-ON programs/industrial visits, and Value Added Programs are organized in various areas of Mechanical Engineering. The department provides Internship courses for the Third-year and Final-year students. Many companies like Connect Well Pvt Ltd, Lloyd Steel Pvt Ltd, Kilburn Engg Pvt ltd, Godrej, Amar Raja Pvt Ltd, and Bharat Bijli Ltd repute Conduct campus placement. The department has placed more than 50% of Campus placement students with good packages.30% of students from the Final year pass out batches going for Higher Education every year.
